On 30 May right-wing nationalist Avigdor Lieberman was installed as the new Defence Minister of Israel. Two weeks earlier Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon resigned citing lack of faith in Netahnayu’s government. His post was shortly hereafter offered to former foreign minister Avigdor Lieberman. Netanyahu’s governing coalition has a one-seat majority but will widen his coalition with the accession of Lieberman’s Yisrael Beitenu party. The new coalition will have 66 of the 120 seats.
