On 8 March it was announced that former Macedonian Interior Minister Ljube Boskoski, has become eligible for early release from prison on the basis of good behaviour. Boskoski was a government critic and his supporters, fearing he may be held longer for political reasons, rallied in front of Skopje’s Idrizovo jail to demand that governor Zivko Pejovski sign his early release form as soon as possible. The reason Boskoski had to spent five years in prison was the illegal financing of his political campaign. The date of his release depends on the approval of the prison’s governor.
